Reimagine Architects
Vedran Škopac is an internationally recognized designer known for his leadership, team support, innovation, and execution of projects with regional impact. After completing his architectural training in Zagreb, Vedran worked as an architect in a globally acclaimed studio ”njiric + arhitekti” where he gained experience in designing projects in Croatia and China. In 2009, he fell in love and moved to Edmonton, Alberta where he joined Reimagine Architects. Soon after, he fell in love with Canada.
Since 2010, Vedran has been a guest critic and lecturer at four Canadian schools of art, design and architecture, and since 2023, teaching a Design Innovation course at School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at University of Calgary. In 2019, Vedran became Principal of Reimagine Architects. Always eager to support the community, Vedran volunteers on boards and committees of multiple not-for-profit organizations.
The key characteristic of Vedran's work is to cultivate greater environmental and social sustainability through innovative architectural typologies. By challenging the conventions that stand in the way of evolution, Vedran focuses on creating spaces that support inhabitants’ mental health and well-being. Vedran is known for bringing the best out of his team members and for turning obstacles into advantages.
Vedran’s most recognisable built designs in Alberta include Eastgate Offices, priMED Mosaic Centre, EPCOR 1939 Heritage Building, Red Deer Polytechnic Student Residence, Northern Lakes College High Prairie Campus, and Concordia University of Edmonton New Academic Building.
